Workers’ Compensation · By trade
Pick the trade; each page lists the class codes we place it under and the states we work.

All of the account’s class codes go out with payroll against each, including the ones sitting at zero. No market gets to price half the operation.
Entity and FEIN, locations, payroll by class, the experience modification and the claims off the loss run are keyed once and reused by every market.
When the standard market passes, a producer works the specialty markets, the state’s residual market, or an employee-leasing (PEO) route for that account by hand. None of the three is automatic.
A completed application and loss runs, a prior policy, or the account typed into the form.
Every class code on the account is measured against every loaded market at once, so you see who wants that work in that state before anyone touches a carrier form.
A quote, an underwriting review, or a decline — each named as what it is. A review asks for more information; it is not a price.
Who buys it: any employer with staff on payroll, since a policy is required once an employer reaches the state’s own threshold, which differs by state (Alabama at five employees, Georgia at three; see each state’s page for its rule and statute link); contractors and trades whose certificates are checked before they get on site; staffing, restaurant, healthcare and habitational accounts carrying real claims history; employers coming off a non-renewal or a mod increase; businesses with payroll in more than one state; owner-only businesses, which need a ghost policy rather than a full comp policy.
The crew that clocks in before sunrise, the modification that moved after one bad year, the certificate the general contractor wants before Monday — that is what this line is underwriting.
No. The market access is ours — we are a licensed wholesale broker, nationwide. You bring the comp account, stay the agent of record, and keep your commission.
A completed application and loss runs is the clean version. A prior policy works, and so does typing the account into the form. The reader pulls entity, locations, payroll by class, class codes and claims from whatever you send.
It varies by market and it changes. Rather than publish a list that goes stale, the submission is matched against every loaded market at once, so you see who wants that class in that state.
The file moves rather than stops: a specialty market, the state’s residual market, or a PEO arrangement where that fits the risk. A producer works it by hand. None of those routes is guaranteed.
Where it is appropriate. When the standard market passes on a high experience modification or a difficult loss history, a producer opens a PEO route for that account. It is never an automatic answer to every decline.
No. North Dakota, Ohio, Washington and Wyoming are state-fund states — private workers’ compensation is not written there at all. Everything else on this page applies in the other forty-six states and the District of Columbia.
AmTrust answers instantly inside Cennairus when the risk clears its appetite, with a premium and the carrier’s own quote document. Other markets answer by email. An underwriting review is a request for more information, not a price.
You keep your commission on what you place through us, settled monthly. We do not publish rates on a public page. Your agency stays the agent of record.
Send the application and the loss runs. You will know which markets have appetite before you promise your client anything.
