What each stage means

Sold — Payment — Initiated

What it means
The deal is sold and sitting at payment. Nothing has been sent or charged yet.
What is happening
The payment step opens with the card, so you can choose how this premium gets collected.
What happens next
Send a payment link and it moves to Invited. Once the money is confirmed, or the carrier bills your client directly, it moves to Bound.
What you may need to do
Choose how the premium is collected.
What you can do here
You can open the payment step again any time with Add Payment.

Sold — Payment — Invited

What it means
A payment link is out and nothing has been collected yet.
What is happening
Your client has the link, and we are waiting on the money.
What happens next
Once the payment is confirmed, the policy is bound and the card moves to Bound.
What you may need to do
Give your client a nudge if the payment is taking a while.
What you can do here
You can open the payment step again with Add Payment.

Sold — Payment — Failed

What it means
A payment that did not go through.
What is happening
It only fills when a payment fails. A payment that fails stays on the card it was already on, under Initiated or Invited.
What happens next
Once a payment is confirmed, the policy is bound and the card moves to Bound.
What you may need to do
If your client’s payment fails, open their card and start the payment again.
What you can do here
You can open the payment step from the card and collect another way.

Sold — Bound — Binder

What it means
Sold, but the carrier’s policy number is not on the record yet.
What is happening
We are waiting on the carrier’s own policy, which is what carries that number.
What happens next
Add the policy and the card moves to Policy.
What you may need to do
When the carrier sends the policy, drop it on the card.
What you can do here
Add the Policy reads the policy number, the dates and the premium straight out of the document.

Sold — Bound — Policy

What it means
The carrier’s policy number is on the record.
What is happening
Nothing is waiting on you. The policy sits here for its term.
What happens next
In its last 60 days it also shows under Renewals, ready to be renewed.
What you may need to do
Nothing, unless your client asks for proof of coverage.
What you can do here
You can generate a certificate of insurance, or renew the policy, straight from the card.

Insured & Policies

What it means
Every policy in your book, in one list.
What is happening
The tabs split them by where they stand: Active, Soon to Expire, Pending Renewals, Expired and Cancelled. Each line carries the policy number, the carrier, the coverage, the start date and the premium.
What happens next
Open any line to see the business behind the policy.
What you may need to do
Nothing. This is your book, kept up to date for you.
What you can do here
You can search it, narrow it by carrier or by line of coverage, and start a renewal with the Renewal button.

Policy card — General

What it means
The card behind a policy you sold, opened from Sold on your Pipeline.
What is happening
The top carries the carrier, the policy number, the premium and how long the coverage still runs. General holds the business itself: the address, the owners, the class codes and the payroll.
What happens next
Check the documents, or produce proof of coverage.
What you may need to do
Nothing, unless something about the business has changed.
What you can do here
Renew and Generate COI sit at the top of the card, whichever tab you are on.

Policy card — Documents

What it means
Everything on file for this policy: the carrier’s documents, loss runs and prior policies.
What is happening
The number on the tab is how many are on record, and an empty tab means nothing has been attached to this policy yet.
What happens next
Add anything new the carrier or your client sends you.
What you may need to do
Nothing, unless a new document arrives.
What you can do here
Add & read documents attaches a file and pulls its information into the application.

Policy card — Generate COI

What it means
A certificate of insurance is the proof that this policy is live right now.
What is happening
Generate COI builds the certificate from the policy on record and opens it for you.
What happens next
Send it to whoever asked for proof of coverage.
What you may need to do
Nothing, unless your client needs proof.
What you can do here
You can make a fresh certificate whenever one is asked for.
